Mree

Hello everyone,

I've listened to this wonderful indie folk musician for years and am more than thrilled to introduce her to you all. She is a multi-talented instrumentalist and an emerging YouTube artist best known for her covers by MGMT, Bon Iver and The Middle East.

'MREE'

http://asiapacificarts.usc.edu/files/images/20111010151040mree.png

Marie Hsiao was once a young, timid teenage girl in New Jersey when she began her music career by performing at local venues (schools, small capacity rooms) and uploading covers on YouTube and MySpace. With the gradual support and growing fanbase including her friends and family, she crossed over to start working on her debut album, Grow. At the age of 17, she was already self-producing and self-recording all instrumentals for 'Grow'.

Mree released her first single 'Against the Current' from 'Grow'

Emerging as an artist and rising to acclaim, Mree has drawn attention from many musical professionals including Grammy award winning folk artist Bon Iver.

Sam Smith

Today, a bit gloomy and exhausted as I had more than 1 exam for each week, therefore I think of my lovely Sam Smith! His song, actually his voice makes me soooo stable sometimes it helps me to go to bed well. Let me introduce him for people who still have no idea who the hell is Sam.

Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" that brought him to most people's attention.

The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé.

That October he issued the Nirvana EP, which included an acoustic reading of "Latch," and by the end of February 2014 he was at the top of the U.K. singles chart once again with "Money on My Mind," an infectious track that inventively married his relaxed vocal with a frenetic beat. Smith's debut full-length, In the Lonely Hour, was released that May in the U.K. It arrived in the U.S. the following month.

22 August 2014 Ariana released her second studio album "My Everything", which including five single songs: "Problem", "Bang Bang" ,"Break Free","Love me harder" and "One last time".

"Love me harder" is my favorite song in this album, let us enjoy this unique video :

this song hits to number seven on the Billboard Hot 100, and Ariana has the most top ten single in 2014.

This is the CD cover of "My everything", Ariana shows her stylish and classical photo as the CD's cover, just like a elegance singer.

"One Last Time " is another my favorite song in this album. This video just looks like a duty game and the girls just walk around people who are suffering and feeling afraid, but the sky is colorful , like a sugar bomb.

Vic Mensa

Hello bloggers,

I would gladly introduce an american hip-hop artist who originated from Chicago, Illinois. Best known for his time as a rapper for the hip-hop/rock group 'Kids These Days' and as a solo artist releasing mix-tapes and hit singles in the past few years. He is currently signed to Roc Nation.

Here is...

'VIC MENSA'

https://cmgajcmusic.files.wordpress.com/2014/09/vic-mensa.jpg

Victor Mensah grew up in the Hyde Park neighbourhood in Chicago with mixtures of different races and different types of people. As a grammar school student, Victor was raised by parents of educational career backgrounds. Living under the standards of his parents, the overwhelming school life led Victor into trouble (living as a hustler) multiple times throughout his teen years.
Victor's musical aspirations have developed with likes of Jay-Z and Nas and it was evident that he wanted to pursue a music career whilst writing rap lyrics at the age of 15. His parents would then recognise his passion and drive for music rather than education and supported his decisions.

At the age of 16, Victor would be hustling and selling weed to earn money to book sessions at a studio to record his debut mixtape in the summer of 2010. He was also a lead rap vocalist in his high school band 'Kids These Days'. A few raps Victor wrote at 15 were used in KTD songs released in the following year.

In 2013, with the follow up of album released by KTD in the previous year 'Traphouse Rock', Victor announced his break up with KTD and would pursue a solo career. He had made a guest appearance on Chance the Rapper's (a close friend) Acid Rap mixtape on the song 'Cocoa Butter Kisses'. Victor had also announced his plans to release a new project later in the year. The project became a reality with a new mixtape called 'Innanetape'. Featuring more songs than its predecessor, Vic showcases his rapping ability through changing flows, stylistic genres such as soul, old school rap rock and jazz and fusion. He also upped his lyrical game. What more can you want from a hustler? He hustles through his music and it grinds everyday (if u wanna listen 24/7)

Innanetape Mixtape 'this shit is fire' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuLeNg5fSPI

I personally would put him in my top 5 as upcoming rappers alongside Kanye and 2Pac. I first listened to him through his feature on Cocoa Butter Kisses and loved his flow and accent. Feeling his shit after discovering his Innanetape mixtape and thanked myself for being so bored that one night to browse on the internet.

Defs recommend him if you like Chance the Rapper, J-Cole, Childish Gambino, Ab-Soul.
Or if you want something fresh, he is definitely fresh for our current hip-hop scene.

MIKA

When i first met Mika, I was like, What is this guy? His marketing strategy is fantastic!
I firstly listened his "Big Girl (You're beautiful)". I thought that he might keen to earn money from Big girls!!!!!!!! haha

---Video from Mika's youtube links

May 2015, this cute guy returened with a little bit more mature mood. I actually loved his pure, innocent and young acting but now he grew up! But Mika is Mika, i still can see and feel his purity!

woooooo, Mika, this Lebanese-british guy always makes mt heart flutter!!!!
You guys might have heard Mika's songs from commercials or somewhere.
This is another his popular song called "lollipop". I am 78% sure that you have heard this song from somewhere like Foxtel, Westfield or cafe!

Video from Mika's youtube links

Mika brought his signature brand of highly-caffeinated melodic pop to Brooklyn’s Verboten on Sunday night (May 3). The first of three stateside performances, the Lebanese-British singer-songwriter is promoting his upcoming fourth album, "No Place in Heaven".

--Video from Mika's youtube link
He smartly sandwiched cuts from his new album between fan favorites. Out of the new tunes, the crowd was most responsive to “Last Party,” a tribute to one of his idols, Freddie Mercury. By the end of the melancholy power ballad, the crowd was singing along -- a testament to Mika’s knack for writing earworms. In fact, the audience even joined in to sing the Latin-infused “Boum Boum Boum.” The song, which was a hit in French and Belgium, lacks an English translation.

Video from Mika's youtube links

Some perspective said the production is terrible, it sounds like a demo that hasn’t been mixed properly and was mistakenly leaked, his vocals are weak compared to his previous work and lack the spark he usually ignites. However, there is always two sides of opinions, I strongly wish that he continue to sold out for this album just like before, like as usual !!!!

A SPECIAL SUNDAY

Happy Mother's Day!

Today is actually a special day for me as this is the first time I am away from home, away from my lovely family :). And that is one of the reason why I decide write this post as a little gift for my mom (hope she can read this :D). She is one of the most wonderful woman in my life, it is hard for me to say how much respect I have for her, not just as a mom but also my best best friend.

I have been collected some of my favourite songs on this special event and would like to share with you guys :)

"Because you loved me" has sung by a talented singer Celine Dion. It was released in 1996 and had become the worldwide hit. The song won the Grammy Award for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture and Television, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Record of the year, Song of the year. It had been received a hug positive reviews from music critics. The song made me realise how much I miss my mom. We always have a good time together :)

Another wonderful song for all the moms out there is "Always love you" by Tori Kelly.

"I am moody
Always changing
I still don't know who I am
But you're right there
I know you care

When life gets hard
I can always run home
And now I realise that
Nothing I could
Ever do will make you turn away"

This specific part just described exactly how I was few years ago when still a high school kid. At that time, because of my mom I had confident to go study abroad and that was one of my biggest life changing. I have never regret with that decision and thanks to you, Mom <3

Hope you guys enjoy my kinda "emotion" moment :D

Lakyn Heperi

Hello blogsters,

Here is one of my favourite local acts from Melbourne. An acoustic and folk-rock musician well known for recording YouTube covers (since 2010) and as a semi-finals contestant for the first season of the Australian reality TV Show 'The Voice Australia'.

'LAKYN'

Lakyn Heperi grew up in Auckland, NZ and learnt to play the piano at the age of 3. Inspired by his musical father, he developed an interest for music of vast genres during his teen years whilst committing to his other passion, semi-professional skateboarding.

"I do think theres a correlation with skating and music: Its freedom."

A determined Lakyn would see his destiny as pursuing a professional skateboarding career until an ankle injury that prolonged for 8 months prevented him from skating. During this time, Lakyn practiced on a guitar bought by his father and learnt songs from Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan, who he cites as some of his musical influences.

Whilst developing his musicianship and songwriting skills, he recorded covers on YouTube using demos on Garageband and uploading originals. He gained more public attention from across the globe and received millions of views.

With the exposure of his Youtube profile from the growth of his fanbase, he gained encouragement to audition for the Australian reality TV show 'The Voice Australia'. Passing the audition rounds, he was mentored by Joel Madden. As a contestant of the show, he sang covers of MGMT and Youth Group with the attention of TV audiences and record labels.

After his tenure as a contestant on The Voice, he went back to recording new music and released his debut EP in the summer of 2012. This EP contains 4 new written compositions and a cover of '(I Just) Died in your Arms'. With the bright acoustic production and heartwarming lyrics that conveys stories of individual values, pastimes and life experiences.

Nick Jonas

"Chain" is the first song that I know about Nicolas "Jerry" Nick Jonas, I just kept recycled playing it everyday when I heard this song at the first time and I still love it till today. Let's enjoy this lovely song and get a little break for a moment.

With her wine-stained lips, yeah she’s nothing but trouble
Cold to the touch but she’s warm as a devil
I gave all my heart but she won't heal my soul
She tasted a break and I can’t get more

You got me in chains, you got me in chains for your love
But, I wouldn’t change, no I wouldn’t change this love
You got me chains, you got me in chains for your love
But, I wouldn’t change, no I wouldn’t change this love

Tryna break the chains but the chains only break me
(Hey-ey-ey-ey, hey-ey-ey-ey, hey-ey-ey-ey, hey-ey-ey-ey)
Tryna break the chains but the chains only break me

Alone in the night ‘til she knocks on my door
Oh no, wasted again but I can’t say no (no)
Baby tell me why, why you do, do me wrong
Baby tell me why, why you do, do me wrong
Gave you my heart but you took my soul

You got me in chains, you got me in chains for your love
But, I wouldn’t change, no I wouldn’t change this love
You got me chains, you got me in chains for your love
But, I wouldn’t change, no I wouldn’t change this love

Tryna break the chains but the chains only break me
(Hey-ey-ey-ey, hey-ey-ey-ey, hey-ey-ey-ey, hey-ey-ey-ey)
Tryna break the chains but the chains only break me

Baby tell me why, why you do, do me wrong
Baby tell me why, why you do, do me wrong
Gave you my heart but you took my soul

You got me in chains, you got me in chains for your love
But, I wouldn’t change, no I wouldn’t change this love
You got me chains, you got me in chains for your love
But, I wouldn’t change, no I wouldn’t change this love

Tryna break the chains but the chains only break me

BIGBANG

The fourth single album of BIGBANG has launched , which will became the first album of their MADE series in nine years.
This is the cover of the album "M":

The MTV of "Loser" is highly different from their style before which  feels like they  "grow up"
in the last three years-- they try to express the emotions of what they have experienced and what they though after being absence for such long time.

The other song call "BAE BAE" is resemble the style that they used to be, however the meaning of lyric is full of provocative words

The MADE series cover:

G-Dragon revealed during the second concert of MADE 2015 World Tour that he had a hard time making the album, since there are a big expectations for BIGBANG comeback, he said, "In all honesty, I was in a slump that wasn’t a normal slump. I worried a lot. The group has grown due to all the fans, so I unknowingly felt a heavy burden because it’s been a long time since we released an album. I worried a lot because of this, but we worked well, as we continued." he added, "I thought to myself that I just need to work. We got together frequently and worked."

Nicki Minaj

Many people are still arguing about her butts and boobs. Whether they are fake or not, we still listen her songs!

The first rule of Celebrity Gossip Club? Question everything.
Even marriages. Even babies. And especially relationships.
As such, everyone is talking about the (possible) engagement of one Nicki Minaj and her new prince charming, Meek Mill.
Wednesday, Nicki posted a picture on instagram of a giant heart-shaped ring on that hand and that finger:

Rumors that Nicki and Mill are dating started circulating not long after the release of “The Pinkprint,” her latest album. Mill appears on the track “Buy A Heart.”

She tweeted heart, diamond, and engagement ring emojis accompanying the link to her instagram photo, but well, emojis aren’t words. In terms of solid editorial judgment, we need actual text. Way to go, Nicki. You’ve successfully ensured that no one knows quite what to think.

Well, that was Nicki's gossip for these days, the reason I put this in this blog is that we cannot tell about Nicki without gossip! Now, forget about lame gossips, let us go to her fantastic music videos.

In 2014 the summer when America’s racial wounds are rupturing, and the anger of the disenfranchised boils over from a hash tag into a movement, the possibility of real change dances in front of us. But the pop music world only wants to talk about one thing: black women’s butts.

Apparently, the banana featured in the kitchen portion of Nicki Minaj’s video for the song “Anaconda” is no coincidence. The sexy nature of the video inspired a thousand opinion pieces when it debuted in August and has since racked up more than 200 million views. And now, in a new interview, the singer addresses some of the symbolism, or lack thereof in her performance.

To be fair, it wasn’t going to be easy for Nicki Minaj to trump her rump-shaking smash Anaconda. The hype for a follow-up to her Sir Mix-A-Lot-sampling hit was already at a fever pitch — but did she deliver with a worthy follow-up? Well.

The return-to-roots rap track 'Only', the third single off of the newly pushed-back the Pinkprint - certainly has its fair share of scandal-heavy lyrics worth talking about, as well as a simple, menacing beat courtesy of Dr. Luke. Was it enough to sway the critics — or the Twittersphere? Check out all the reviews, as well as some choice tweets, after the jump!!!
