I would gladly introduce an american hip-hop artist who originated from Chicago, Illinois. Best known for his time as a rapper for the hip-hop/rock group 'Kids These Days' and as a solo artist releasing mix-tapes and hit singles in the past few years. He is currently signed to Roc Nation.
Here is...
'VIC MENSA'

Victor Mensah grew up in the Hyde Park neighbourhood in Chicago with mixtures of different races and different types of people. As a grammar school student, Victor was raised by parents of educational career backgrounds. Living under the standards of his parents, the overwhelming school life led Victor into trouble (living as a hustler) multiple times throughout his teen years.
Victor's musical aspirations have developed with likes of Jay-Z and Nas and it was evident that he wanted to pursue a music career whilst writing rap lyrics at the age of 15. His parents would then recognise his passion and drive for music rather than education and supported his decisions.
At the age of 16, Victor would be hustling and selling weed to earn money to book sessions at a studio to record his debut mixtape in the summer of 2010. He was also a lead rap vocalist in his high school band 'Kids These Days'. A few raps Victor wrote at 15 were used in KTD songs released in the following year.

In 2013, with the follow up of album released by KTD in the previous year 'Traphouse Rock', Victor announced his break up with KTD and would pursue a solo career. He had made a guest appearance on Chance the Rapper's (a close friend) Acid Rap mixtape on the song 'Cocoa Butter Kisses'. Victor had also announced his plans to release a new project later in the year. The project became a reality with a new mixtape called 'Innanetape'. Featuring more songs than its predecessor, Vic showcases his rapping ability through changing flows, stylistic genres such as soul, old school rap rock and jazz and fusion. He also upped his lyrical game. What more can you want from a hustler? He hustles through his music and it grinds everyday (if u wanna listen 24/7)

I personally would put him in my top 5 as upcoming rappers alongside Kanye and 2Pac. I first listened to him through his feature on Cocoa Butter Kisses and loved his flow and accent. Feeling his shit after discovering his Innanetape mixtape and thanked myself for being so bored that one night to browse on the internet.
Defs recommend him if you like Chance the Rapper, J-Cole, Childish Gambino, Ab-Soul.
Or if you want something fresh, he is definitely fresh for our current hip-hop scene.
